We're so excited to have Mara DePuy as part of the OS family.
Mara grew up in a small town in Vermont where the local riding school, Huntington Farm, happened to be a great Eventing barn. She began as a working student there at the tender age of eleven. A few years later she took her naughty small horse, Hopper, to Wash Bishop for help, and the rest is history.
That little horse took her from the North American Young Riders Championships in 1993 to the Atlanta Olympics three short years later, where she placed 6th individually. Mara has competed for the US Team not only at the Olympics but also at 2 Pan American Games (Argentina 1995 and Brazil 2007.) Mara has ridden across the biggest tracks in the world, including Burghley, Rolex and Badminton. A fixture on the Team Training list, Mara is known for her excellence in the dressage ring, her bravery cross country, and her consistency in the show jumping.
She operates out of the beautiful Willow Bend Farm in Round Hill, Virginia. With a large number of students that she coaches, as well as having five top young horses coming up through the levels, Mara keeps very busy and can be seen at almost every big event in the US.
We look forward to sharing the stories and style of Mara in the coming years.
