Caitlyn Shiels | Sponsored Rider Update

Canterbury Farm Chicago

We are so thrilled to have Caitlyn and Canterbury Farm as members of the O'Shaughnessey family. We look forward to sharing their stories with you, starting with a update for the new year from Caitlyn.

I hope this updates finds you well. There have been some exciting things happening at Canterbury Farm!

I should really start by sharing the great accomplishments of our team in 2013. Madeline Pogorzelski was the breakout star of Canterbury Farm this year. We are thrilled that all of her hard work with her pony Pumpkin Pie resulted in these two being champion of the small/medium children’s pony hunter in Zone 5! Marcia Franklin’s Cydelle and I ended her fabulous pre-green year with a reserve champion of the 3’3 Pre-Green Hunters. Kenya, owned by Michelle Durpetti, and I finished his record year strong with a 5th place finish in the Performance Hunter 3’6 in Zone 5 and ended up 5th nationally in the 3’6 Performance Hunters. Kenya and I were also 3rd in the 3'6 performance hunters on the state level as well (IHJA), and Kenya and Michelle were champion of the Amateur Owner Hunters 1835. Canterbury Farm’s Hillcrest Songbird finished 4th in the large ponies in Zone 5. All in all, a fabulous way to end the year!

As we look forward to beginning our 2014 show season in Ocala at the HITS horse shows, we are excited for everything that we seek to accomplish this year, including continuing our partnership with O'Shaughnessey! We have many new and exciting horses we'll be competing with this season and are extremely excited to keep you posted on all of our happenings!

X, Caitlyn
